Portobello PinUps
Check out the website launch for Lily Allen’s new vintage shop, Lucy in Disguise. The shop is set to open September 18th in Covent Garden, London and will not only carry gorgeous, hand-selected vintage pieces by the songster herself, but also will have a full beauty bar downstairs. Count me in for the store opening. Until then you can visit the Lucy in Disguise pop-up shop found in Selfridges.
While strolling through Portobello Market, I stumbled upon my now favourite shop in London, Jane Bourvis. Tucked just behind busy Portobello Road lies this gem of a shop, filled with incredible vintage or one of a kind or up-cycled pieces from the Edwardian and Art Deco Era. Jane Bourvis, the shop owner and designer is so lovely and so passionate about each piece that she creates, finds, or re-works. This shop has antique lace, feminine fabrics, and stunningly handcrafted gowns from the 1900s bursting at this seams…this shop is my dream.

Calling all vintage slaves in London…
Today I ventured out to the Sunday UpMarket in the East side of town to find some vintage pieces to begin my shop. Though it was packed with tourists, the market had great prices on vintage clothing, antiques, and local foods. Somehow I managed to breeze through all the crowds to find a few vintage dresses, shoes, and accessories, all in great condition. Of all the markets i’ve visited in the city so far, I found the UpMarket to be the most affordable and the “bang for your buck.”
